God Bless you people of God,
I pray that you fasting (from food, from 8AM-6PM) is bring you closer to God. I pray that it is allowing you the opportunity to feed on the word of God more than other types of food. Continue to pray and read a proverb a day. We are on proverb 17
Focus Text: Proverb 17
9 He who covers over an offense promotes love,
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam;
so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.
Reflection: Grace and mercy are such a wonderful things. God grants us grace and mercy every morning when we are allow to live another day. God Blesses us because God gives us what we don't deserve and doesn't give us what we do. We make mistakes and struggle through life and God continues to love us.
So then, what benefit do we get in punishing others for the pain and trouble they cause us. Our focus text offers insight to how we manage our feeling when others offend us. We promote LOVE when we are able to "move past" the pain that others cause us. The result of holding on to pain and desiring revenge is separation. We are not only separated from our friend or foe but also separated from God. For the bible instructs us not to come to God attempting to sacrifice before we have reconciled with our brother or sister.
As the proverb says "drop the matter before a dispute breaks out." I was very convicted because sometime I start dispute by talking too much and taking myself too seriously. I say to you don't take yourself or others too seriously. They don't have the power to save you or themselves. Can you imagine how blessed we would be if we actually took God and the message of Christ seriously. We would avoid a multitude of sin by taking God and the message of Christ seriously. We would reconcile instead of beef, we would love instead of hate, we would give life instead of murder. The world would be a lot better off.
Is there someone you need to forgive? Is there a situation you just need to get over? Have you given anyone grace lately.
These are just some thoughts of wisdom today
And for your meditating pleasure
*** this last scripture speaks to us who seek after money and great wealth over wisdom
16 Of what use is money in the hand of a fool, since he has no desire to get wisdom?
just think about it.
Be Blessed

Prov. 17:3 "Fire tests the purity of silver and gold,
ReplyDeletebut the Lord tests the heart"
* Before silver and gold become these beautiful peices of jewelry or take any value, there is a process that they must go through. First they are mined out of the ground as ore, it is then taken to a refinery where special acids are placed over it to extract the gold from the ore, then with a mixture of other chemicals it is fired tested in extreme heats of over 1,000 degrees, then it is molded into bar shapes and cleaned, then it is purified and cut for sale. The Lord takes us through similar processes in life to test the purity of our hearts. The extreme heat can be taken as bad times in our life. While going through these bad times will we truely lean on the Lord for guidance and help? It is only after being "fire tested" that we can reveal the true ambitions of our heart. Our hearts must be true and pure for the Lord at all times, whether we are doing good or bad in life. When our hearts are pure for Him, at the end of our "process" we will shine like the gold in His eyes because we have been made pure.
