DAY 6

Good Afternoon Blessed people of God

today's proverb was long and quite intense.

Be sure to read proverbs 6 verse 20-23

20 My son, keep your father's commands
and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

21 Bind them upon your heart forever;
fasten them around your neck.

22 When you walk, they will guide you;
when you sleep, they will watch over you;
when you awake, they will speak to you.

23 For these commands are a lamp,
this teaching is a light,
and the corrections of discipline
are the way to life,

Reflection: Once again Solomon has commissioned us to take note of our mother and fathers teachings. People of God, this admonition must have great significance. The relationship with your parents (whether you like it or not) is valuable and warrants conversation. One of the most difficult thing to do is obey your parents during moments of disagreement. When we are growing up we feel like our parents nag and fuss over things that are not serious which makes the liberty of growing up much more attractive.

If you take nothing from our first reflection, you should know that it is wise to heed to advice and instruction of your parents. Try to see their perspective. Listen to what they are saying versus how and who is saying it. God wants us to be much more concentrated on content than the instrument that is used to deliver to content. Wise and powerful things come from our parents. Even flawed parents have much wisdom to offer. If you do not respect your parents or simply have trouble listening to their input, do a self check. Do you really know everything? Is it really a bad idea to consider some of the things your parents are saying? Or are you just rebelling because you want to choose your own path

Be Blessed
Charles
